Patients who have suffered a severe injury to their musculoskeletal system require the expertise of a physician who specializes in orthopaedic trauma. These physicians use state-of-the-art treatments for musculoskeletal injuries and diseases including fractures of the long bones, hips, and pelvis and with associates in the hand, foot and spine. Care is also provided for joint injuries including the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles.

Orthopaedic trauma surgeons emphasize timely diagnosis and, when indicated, reconstruction of the injured part. They are able to offer special expertise in the care of long bone fractures, multiple blunt trauma, pelvic and acetabular (the socket in the hip bone) fractures.

Section members are all board certified orthopaedic surgeons.
